A farce by Judy Rose
"Fun, enjoyable, a great evening. Second largest attendance in theatre history."
My Very Own Mother? . . . A VampireVampire? Jeremy Goldstein, a professional photographer and guilt-ridden son, is shocked to find that his beloved but manipulative mother, Vera, while on a tour with a group of ladies from New Jersey, has been bitten in the neck by a vampire. What is a loving son to do?When his mother shows up in her little black cape, Jeremys hilarious attempts to keep vampire Vera out of the sight of his live-in girl friend, Allison -- and his equally hilarious but futile effort to keep Vera from trying to bite "everyone in New Jersey" -- leads Jeremy to call on the services of Angelo, a failed Mafia hit man who is mistaken for a CIA agent. Allison, unaware of the presence of a vampire, and fearing that Jeremys sanity is in question, invites a psychiatrist, Dr. Berg, to the house to check up on Jeremy. Complications pile upon complications, as Dr. Berg lustily chases the maid, and Jeremy chases the thirsty Vera to keep her away from Allison and Berg (as to Angelo, Jeremy is a little too late) while Vera, as vampires do, chases everyone. All ends well. Jeremy resolves his dilemma,
bringing himself to choose transient earthly life with Allison over eternal vampire
"undeath" with Mama, and everyone lives (?) happily (one way or the other) ever
after. "Spontaneously mixes the humorous with the farcical." -- Sheboygan (WI) Press"Hilarious" -- The Virginian-Pilot "Lively slapstick . . . impossible to resist" -- Daily Oklahoman
