state, home of the Litchfield Jazz Festival, the Warner Theatre, The
Nutmeg Ballet Company, and numerous art galleries.

Entries must be new, original full-length
plays which HAVE previously had a non-professional production,
reading, or staged reading within the past five years.
|

NO musicals, children's, adaptations or translations,
one-acts.

 |
Cast limited to no more than 8 characters.

 |
Chosen scripts will receive a reading at the Brookfield
Theatre for the Arts in Brookfield, CT throughout the 2003-2004 season. A
talk-back will follow each reading. Playwrights are encouraged to
attend the reading of their plays.
|
 |
Of the chosen scripts a first place prize of $300 will be awarded after all of the plays have had a
reading. The winning first place play will receive a staged reading in
the fall of 2004 at The Brookfield Theatre for the Arts. |
